UN Reports 5,000/Month Killed in Syria as LA Peace Movement Waves Killer's Flag on Wilshire

Don't let anyone tell you that there are no revolutionaries worth supporting in Syria. Here are some of the Syrians I have been blogging for since Occupy LA got evicted from City Hall Park:

A message from Syrians in Kafranbel to the family of young Trayvon Martin.

In a press briefing yesterday, the United Nations reported that 5,000 people a month are being killed in Syria. At least 6,000 people flee every day in what they are calling the worst humanitarian crisis "since the Rwandan genocide almost 20 years ago."

Woman and children stand amidst the bombed-out ruins of their city

And while this conflict is complex and many-sided, there can be no doubt who is responsible for the lion's share of the destruction. Only the Assad Regime has the air force, ballistic missiles and long range artillery to do this to his cities and he has been able to do this with the acquiescence of all the world's major powers.

The war Assad has waged against his people is incredible! This is Homs today

Today is appropriately the 58th birthday of Disneyland because the US Left is living in FantasyLand as it protests "the US/NATO War Against Syria." It is not US bombs dropped from US planes that is doing this destruction, for a change, it is Russian bombs being dropped from Syrian planes.

A man stands among the ruins of Aleppo, one of the oldest cities on Earth

It is also the Assad forces that are slaughtering the children of Syria.

Syria is a country undergoing a revolution. As everyone knows, it is currently being represented by two flags in contention, the flag of the Revolution and the flag of the Assad dictatorship, so when Los Angeles "Peace Activists" wave Assad's flag on Wilshire, they should rightly be seen as supporters of what Assad is doing under the color of that flag, as illustrated above.

I think I am entirely correct to call the Left and Peace Movement generally to answer for this charge because the protest above, while very sparsely attended, was very widely supported among Left and Peace groups in the United States. Sadly, it even includes Veterans for Peace a group I had belonged to and don't like to see supporting a dictator and a mass murderer like Bashar al-Assad.

  1. My ass. Syrian opposition is indeed armed and backed by the West. We all know that now.
